The labor force participation rate, or the share of working-age Americans with a job or looking for a job, rose to 62.3 percent, the highest level since March 2020, from 62.2 percent in January. The rate increased broader measures of unemployment, including people who want a job but have given up looking, and people working part-time because they cannot find a full-time job, to 7.2 percent, from 7.1 percent in January. Data for the jobs report are collected in the weeks ending on the 12th of the month.

Discharge From Employment An employer is not required to compensate the employee for accrued or unused sick days upon discharge.
